You like to dance, and you like dancing to interesting songs. You’ve had enough of the club nights that bowl you over with bass and beats that don’t go anywhere. Try the dance night where you’re guaranteed to get to dance to the Team Banzai March.
From Air to Marvin Gaye to Z-Rocks and all points in-between, we'll have the music that you want to dance to - even if you didn't know you wanted it beforehand.
It’s not dredging up nostalgia - it’s resynthesis.
Basic rules :
1) YOU MUST DANCE. (If you're incapable of dancing for some reason (decapitation or somesuch), then rhythmic rocking will do.)
2) Refer to Rule 1.
3) Requests will be placed as wall posts here in the event. I reserve the right to ignore or otherwise be a jerkface about them, or ask you for a copy if I don't have it.
4) If you do nothing else, Groove.

Okay, got another question in regards to my dances. If I raised the cover to $10, would that be a barrier to your attending? (I really don't want to, but I'm likely to need to if I'm going to come closer to breaking even on these.)

![[User Picture]](http://l-userpic.livejournal.com/10013000/1838315) [Link] | News again : Friday, June 17th/Saturday the 18th, the Bi-Peds will be on Pat and Rosie's Nightsounds on KPFT. The show runs from 1:00-4:00 AM, and I expect again that they'll be playing the front half-ish of the show.
Remember, this is in anticipation of our big show at Discovery Green on June 30th, which is going to be a blast-and-a-half, and which all right-thinking people will of course want to be at...

[Link] | Spoiler-free talk about Tron:Legacy for a sec.
In the movie, there's a moment when we see the villain pick up a small piece of sculpture from a mantel - it's one of a pair of metallic star shapes. Everyone's been talking about it being an homage to the Bit from the first movie, but I also took it as a symbol of the duality of the villain and one of the other characters. See, the two star-ish things are the two halves of a Yoshimoto Cube. As someone who went through the process of making flexagons recently, let me tell you that these things are really faboo.

[Link] | Listening to the Tron: Legacy OST, and I think Jesse nailed it on the head. It's a whole bunch of score from a band who's known for having hooks. It's good, it's evocative, and there's a couple of fairly good singles - but maybe heading into it as a Daft Punk album isn't the way to go.
On the other hand, after hearing this, I'm quite sure that "Orchestral Hits of Daft Punk" would be AWESOME.
(And I'm SURE that they just sampled "O Superman" for that track.)
